"What the heck does that have to do with people being normal or not?!"
Really, what was with that girl?!

"Not much aside from looking past the the simple meaning into the deeper thoughts of the wise." It was meant to sound like a light remark, but it came out rather arrogantly.

Well, no one ever said a tired person could ever hold their own for long.

"And you keep on doing that every day, and boasting about it like this? No wonder nobody hangs around with you."
There as no sneer in the Gryffindor's voice, only an honest remark

"A friend should be able to look past a mask, don't you think?" But if she thought about it, she's not out to make friends with many other people.

Her brother and her were looking out for allies. Not friends.

"Really? And why would you nee to wear a mask in front of your freinds? If you're not honest you're not a very good one. A friend accepts you, flaws, mask and the whole kit, yes, but that doesn't mean they have to be a great sacificethat you can demand anything of."
really, what was with people? If you wasn't ready to fight 'til death for people they weren't friends, and that's how simple it was. At least to Freya...

"Honesty or honour, which should come first?" the Wong murmured, more to herself than in reply to the other girl, what an age old question...

"Depends on the POV and situation, there is no World Wide Rule for it. Loyalty comes before all, that's it."
Pleased with her logic the gryffindor nodded and looked around the more crowded corridors for the teacher they still should be looking for. Even if she still called the owl her own she coudl still use some advice...

"Loyalty is too variable to be counted." Now within a crowd, she managed to slip in between a group of Ravenclaws and disappeared among a rabble of fifth and sixth years all heading towards the Great Hall.

Be it luck or chance (or just plain magic), Professor Jasmine Wong had just revealed herself by running straight into the castle with a centaur right behind her!

Freya only glared where she guessed the Wong had disappered; how could loyalty be anything bad?! Give it to someone who didn't feel it to others than those chosen by others to ask for something else... As if family was all that mattered! Friends were often better...
Bu tthen she, as many others, was left to watch the odd chase that now took place for them all to watch, only stepping to the side to let the professor pass if needed...

Suddenly turning, the professor threw an uppercut at the centaur. The mythical creature was caught unawares and knocked back some. Giving the professor just enough time to conjure ropes around his legs and arms. "I told you to quit following me, Rames." The chestnut haired centaur tried to kick out of his binds, only succeeding in tipping himself over. "Hrmph...! Insolent...human!"

eyeing the scene Freya couldn't help but to grin; that was surely a professor one could look up to! And seeing that the centaur was down then surely she'd have time now.

"Excuse me, Professor? Sorry, but do you have time? You see, we found this little owl out by the lake, me and Wong..."

"Hm?" The Professor was holding a rope attached to the centaur's hands, and was starting to lead him out, "Williams! You found an owlet? ...And which Wong? There's my niece in Gryffindor, the twins in Ravenclaw and that angry nephew in Slytherin." Rames was making a fuss and starting to speak in another language that vaguely sounded human (perhaps a mix of horse and human?) "Rames, if I untie you, will you go back to the Forest nicely?"

The Centaur continued it's little fit.

Freya blinked; was there really that many Wongs here at once? "The Ravenclaw-girl..."
Then she got another idea; the professor had told tehm to figure out a question for a centaur, and here she was with a perfect oportunity of actaully asking it! Getting up beside them she made a small bow to the half-human creature "Say, Mr Rames, would you mind if I ask; what is your idea of Loyalty?"

Rames looked at her with a rather angry glare, "Loyalty? It's a rather mundane concept, at it's base. But with a more holistic outlook, it can be quite spiritually compelling to pledge eternal allegiance to some higher power or god. As I believe you humans see it as. As for centaurs, our loyalty is pledged completely to--" He whinnied loudly, having been hit on the behind by the professor, "There you go again Rames, talking from ignorance and not anything of substance." "Why I ought to--!"

A handful of sugar cubes were stuffed into his mouth.

"So Arty! She's a bit cold, but she means well." Professor Wong looked like rainbows were popping up everywhere. "I think." Her smile started to drop a little. "Sometimes." And it turned sheepish. "She scares me." The frank honesty was quite sharp.

Looking from one to the other Freya decided there and then that she'd never want a job like this... The professor seemed to have gone mad with it...
"Well, thank you Sir, for answering the question. And Professor, about the owl... can I keep it?"

"Let me see him first." She sounded eager, but had enough sense to keep herself composed around such a small animal.

Rames was still chewing on his sugar cubes.

Very carefully Freya peeled away the scarf so the little bird sitting nested in it would be visable and then gently picked it up, holding it out for the professor
"We found him in the snow..."

Professor Jasmine Wong took the small owl from the Gryffindor's hands carefully, observing him from all sides and opening his little beak a smudge to look inside his mouth. "Hm..."

"He'll make it, right? He wasn't cold for that long..."
With the lack of response the Gryffindor was starting to grow quite nervous...

"Yeah, he seems alright. A little shocked about not knowing where his mum is though.

"...you mean to say we should try to find the nest and put him back there?"
She almost felt sick at the idea of leaving the little thing out there; it was still cold! And what the owl-mother was thinking when she laied an egg at this time she didn't even want to know...

"Maybe. But if thestrals got to her, it's best you take care of him until the snow's melted, Ms Williams."

"But... by then it'll be too big to be taken care of by anyone... What do one do then?"
Didn't post-owls need to learn stuff somewhere? Not that she would mind, right now she was pretty sure she could do anyhting to keep that little fuzzball...

"I could take care of him, Ms Williams."

"...and you sure you're not too busy with everything else? You really seem to have a lot to do already..."
Looking from the owl to the professor Freya couldn't help but to worry that she'd take him right away; she wanted to keep the owlet for herself!
