You Don't Always Win

Kevin rubbed the girl's back gently, trying to help her keep the potion down. He needed to focus more on the task at hand, if anything.

The other Gryffindor merely gave her a raised eyebrow, silently asking her if she was alright (not that she could see it under his bangs...they hid his eyes).

unable to answer their converns with more than a small whimper Freya could harldy bother with feeling weak and stupid; man this hurt! She had to stop breathing to not start coughing and after only two more seconds of hesitation she forgot how injured she'd been when comming here and tried to get up to rush to the bathroom before it was too late!

Fortunately, Kevin sensed what was about to happen and kept a good grip on her shoulder, conjuring a bucket and putting it in front of the girl.

He probably shouldn't have given her that half-glass, it was recommended to only drink a quarter at a time...

feeling the bucket in her hands Freya didn't hold back one second longer than needed to, and she could feel tears slippng down her cheeks as the potion went back up her throat. She could feel that it really hadn't had time to to much work on her, now she really just wanted to black out; this was worse than before!

"Ms Williams, how do you feel?" While it may sound like a trivial question, it actually held much weight behind it. The other Gryffindor just looked at his house mate with worry.

Freya only slowly shook her head and tried to breathe, unsteadily and shallow when anything else hurt both her sides and throat, and she had to use the bucket to stay upright; otherwise she could bet on she'd be down like a ragdoll...

Kevin handed her a glass of cold water, maghicking a quill to write notes and observations about Freya to update her medical records. "Rest is the best thing for you right now, Ms Williams. You should be exhausted by now and will need to recover."

Refusing to take the water, quite sure she would just drop it, Freya didn't really know how to get good rest when still hurting like this. He'd get for this, damned Wong!
But she didn't really want to drop this bucket either, so she wasn't sure how she was supposed to lie down...

Kevin hadn't dealt with stubborn students so well in the past, seeing that he kept holding the glass of water out as if to offer it to Freya. Just waiting for her to make her move like a patient teacher.

not even looking up at the healer Freya felt a shiver move up her body as a few more tears slipped out at the burning in her throat; she wouldn't move one bit without help, she didn't even want to try to!

"Ms Williams...?"

a small trembling whimper was all she could give in response, just to show that she could still hear them. But really, what did he expect? When was this going to be over?! She hadn't had that potion in her for that long...

Muttering the spell again, Kevin handed a glass of the potion (at only one quarter full of the glass) to Freya.

with her eyes closed Freya didn't even know something was offered to her, and in her mind she already promised herself that she'd never drink anyhting from this place again! From now on spells and band-aids was all this guy could get her to use!

Sighing sadly, the apprentice healer helped Freya lie back (slowly, of course). Rest was all the girl needed, hopefully.

Set sat in his chair, still blowing air at his bangs and looking very worried for Freya.

Whenever she could gather enough air the Gryffindor mumbled all kinds of curses and evil promises of pain and revenge at all potions and healers there was in this world, only slowly claimed by the sleep she so desperately needed, crawled up in a fatal position and still trembling…

Kevin smiled apologetically, somewhat aware the young Gryffindor was unable to see it. He murmured a few spells to help ease some of her pain (anesthetic spell, it's not an all-cure though and temporary relief). Seeing that Set was still there, he motioned for the boy to leave and do his homework: Freya needed to rest.

Not able to think up any excuses, Set left the infirmary, but was determined to return around dinner time.

In the end the Gryffindor-girl went quiet when sleep took her mind away from the pain, even if she seemed to still prefer to be crawled up like a ball… How she would be when she woke up would be quite hard to say

Much later, after dinner (because his cousin Anubis insisted on dragging him to eat first) saw Set in the infirmary once more. He had brought back a plate with some of bland food (at least, what he thought was bland) and he hoped that Freya wasn't allergic to anything.

once again awake, unable to remain in light sleep, Freya was still curled up and with the covers pulled up over her head. She was starting to feel better, but the injuries that the potion had not healed on its short turn down her system was still there, and it turned her mood down quite a bit...

"Hey, Williams. Are you alright?" Set asked, sitting in one of the visitor chairs beside her cot.

Freya knew she wasn't using the freindliest tone invented, but really; what kind of question was that?!
"You want me to tell the honest truth to that?!"
well, she was feeling good enough to be sarcastic, if that said anything...

"You sound fine to me." He snickered a bit and held out the plate with her dinner, "Guess you're staying overnight though, right?"

"Not if I can sneak out when Wong doesn't see it. It's not like these beds are so wonderfully comfortable that it'll do any difference, and all that idiot wants me to do is drink more of that blood potion!"

If she could she would have sat straigt up and punched the pillow, but she was both bruised and stiff, so she had to get up a bit slowly. But god knew, she could still glare!

"Is it that horrible?" Set wondered vaguely if he'd have to feed his fellow housemate. ...But reason stood that she'd rather beat him to a pulp before letting him feed her some food!

"Better listen to a healer anyways, they know what's best."
