Strange Reading

The 4rth year Slytherin layed on the common room in one of the arm chairs , in quite the awkward position. She layed upside down , her legs over the top of the chair and her head in the bottom , her blond hair falling to the ground. She held a book in her hands , as always the one about greek myths she held so dearly , although she layed upside down and the book was upright. Bianka hummed in the common room somehow reading the book. With her snakes hissing lazily over her.

"Oh fun~" she hummed , turning the pages of the book.

Carrying a few scrolls containing Norse texts to decipher, Lex made his way down to the common room. He searched for a good armchair to sit on then noticed a certain Slytherin reading in an odd position. "Isn't it hard to read that way?" he commented.

Ares sat at a nearby table, somehow managing to insist that he study in preparation for his NEWTs (he had to make a few promises to his favourite jailbait girlfriend and that included spending the rest of the day with her after he finished studying). Hearing Lex's voice, he was momentarily distracted by the Maximilian and turned his attention on the other two with a raised eyebrow. He thought to himself for a moment and realized that the boy probably had no new messages for him from the black queen, considering that it was only yesterday when they had last corresponded.

Noticing Ares' presence, Lex turned his attention to him. "Are you.... studying?" he asked mockingly as he couldn't help but grin in amusement.

"Yeah, what 'bout it?" He pretended to throw a glare at the Maximilian: if the boy wanted a lesson, he'd be glad to take it outside (the Head of Slytherin, his father, was complaining about the bloodstains in the common room for several years now).

"Nothing," Lex replied as he walked towards him, "it's just a strange scene. My niece will likely want to hear this." He then placed down the scrolls on the floor and took the letter out from his robes, "speaking of the devil, she sends you another letter. Nothing much of importance." He glanced at Bianka in the conrer of his eye before he added, just curious about story about a certain knight's escapades with the pawn."

"Pft, remind her she needed ta study fer her NEWTs too if yer goin' on 'bout bein' strange." Taking the letter, he tucked it away in his robes, "Should I send a note ta Hawkins 'bout a 'new development' in a family scandal?"

((Hawkins, reporter for a pureblood gossip magazine that stalks Ares and Sophie whenever they go out on dates))

"That would depend," Lex replied as he raised an eyebrow, "how detailed will that 'development' be? Knowing my niece, she prefers giving them only tidbits. Making their imaginations work rather than giving it all out."

"Not much, probably just sayin' a new player's been added ta the drama. It'll keep 'em guessin' enough 'til we can get the flames transfered (Chinese Fireball dragon claws)."

Lex nodded, "all right." He sat down of the floor to work on the ancient texts he had to decipher before he casually spoke out, "Riev sends his greetings too. He'd write you a letter but he's... currently busy. To much distraction at the moment."

"Don't ya mean bein' f*cked silly by Watson?" He chuckled a bit, "A little bit distracted wouldn't be what I call those two~"

Lex cleared his throat and raised the scroll a bit higher as though examining a certain text to mask his startled expression. He could curse - pretty good at it too, but cursing so openly in public was something he was unused to hear, no matter how many times. Still, he tried to keep his voice nonchalant as he replied, "you can put it that way though Riev has other things to take care of other than to... deal with his personal business."

"Course he does, he's been helpin' me a few times with some idiots that don't pay their dues (people who borrow money from the Wongs and don't return the interest/build up debt)." Ares glanced at the page in front of him, scowling a bit at the various runes on it, "Either way, he's got a lot ta worry 'bout if ya ask me."

Lex gave a small nod, "we all have." He furrowed his brows before he sighed heavily and set the scroll down as he mumbled to himself, "Merlin's flaming knickers."

Bianka gazed around to see where the voice had come from , though the boy had already switched his attention to Ares. No doubt they were probably talking about that black queen thing that Ares had refused to trust her with. She looked at Lex , still being upside down.

"No it's not hard once you get used to it."

She gave that four-way chess thing some thought , she remembered that she had played it before with her older brothers. Lesson to learn , It is not fun when 3 older brothers team up and gang up on you in a chess game. Not fun at all....

Lex turned his attention to Bianka, "still, wouldn't it be easier if you sit upright instead?"

"Maybe....although this is quite fun~" Lies , the blood was already rushing to her head. And her face was changing skin color too because of that blood rush. Not that she noticed anyways.

Lex cocked an eyebrow, "you're joking. It's fun to feel the blood rush up to your head?"

"M-maybe!" she stammered , just enough to lose her balance and fall flat on her butt to the ground. She had fallen to fast and now her head ached. "owowowowowow!" she whined as she rubbed her head over and over.

Ares looked up from his book, frowning at her for a moment before walking over, "Oi, you alright Bianka?"

Lex sighed, "if you plan to do that, you could at least be careful."

"Pffft!" she muttered Glaring at Lex. "Its your fault I lost my concentration." She then looked at Ares. "Y-yeah I'm fine.." She decided to stay on the floor until her dizzyness would pass. She shook her head a bit , still dizzy. @ __@

"Hmph, if ya say so..." He picked her up and set her back on the couch, standing there observing her general well-being. He can't study if she's being weird on him.

"Right, it's my fault you put yourself in that position in the first place," Lex mumbled before he returned his attention back to his scrolls.

Once again she glared at Lex. "Like I said you broke off my concentration!-pfft....screw it...." She frowned a bit , she wasn't in the mood to argue over something so pointless. She picked up her book and continued to read , not like she had anything better to do. Continuing her reading she frowned , she just couldn't stop reading the tragic romance myth's section in her book. This got her sad so she switched to a different section in her book. Ironically the story of Hades and Persephone , with that she started to laugh.
